Mr. Edge is one of the South's premier authorities on Southern food traditions and has won four James Beard Awards (the highest award in America's culinary community) for his writing on Southern cuisine and Southern culture.

Mr. Egloff discusses how his successful beef cattle operation began with a dream and now has grown into one of the top meat producers in the Southeast.

It's an initiative to promote safe and healthful practices on farms and in rural communities. Lyle is joined by Dan Neenan, director of the National Education Center for Agricultural Safety in Iowa; Professor Hunter Massey from Clemson University; Governor's School ag teacher Russ Abrams; and the school's farm manager Eric McCall.
National Farm Safety and Health Week is observed September 17-23 this year.

Students at the S.C. Governor's School for Agriculture at John de la Howe live and study on a 1,310-acre working farm with a rich history dating back to 1797. Every day, they experience hands-on learning opportunities to prepare them to become the future leaders of South Carolina's largest industry.
